Uniting Three Generations through Fluidic Design

Contemporary homes often find their strength in fluid layouts and layered detailing, creating spaces that feel open yet defined. This residence reflects that sensibility with quiet confidence.

Designed by Ali Tambawala, founder and design head at Airspace Designs, this 2,200sqft. home is a modern sanctuary envisioned for a three-generation family of six.

It balances individuality with a shared sense of belonging, resulting in spaces that are elegant, fluid and quietly expressive.

Rooted in timeless aesthetics, the design celebrates fluid forms, soft asymmetry and a sense of compression and release that gives movement to every space.

A neutral palette forms the base, while ombre tones and hints of gold introduce warmth, texture and subtle luxury.

The details are understated yet evocative; every finish feels deliberate, every curve intentional.

Each room carries its own personality.
 
The son’s space pulses with youthful energy, drawing from his love for PlayStation in its bold colour accents and graphic rhythm.
 
The daughter’s room is a gentle contrast, where serene pastels, delicate foliage and feminine grace come together to form her private retreat.
 
The guest room rug, inspired by the River Indus, deserves a special mention; it captures the essence of flow and continuity, anchoring the space in quiet symbolism.
 
The parents’ room is composed and soothing, designed to evoke calm through muted tones and tactile comfort.
 
The master bedroom, on the other hand, reads like a serene indulgence. Woven cane, layered textures and organic forms wrap the space in a cocoon of calm and depth.

 

At the heart of the home sits the living room, open, airy and filled with light. Its centrepiece is a statement swing, a playful touch that blurs the line between art and nostalgia.

It brings motion and meaning to the otherwise still space, perfectly capturing the family’s spirit. The design quietly celebrates balance and restraint.

Every corner has been shaped to reflect a soft rhythm, where spaces breathe easily and details speak with clarity. It is a home defined not by excess but by the strength of thoughtful, timeless design.
